May was certainly one of the best months for contributions to our Cook & Kitchen community on Facebook, indeed far too many people shared too many amazing creations to name every outstanding contribution, and so it seems an impossible task to highlight all that deserved a mention in May.
None the less we shall try, and we begin with the minted lamb steaks, Jubilee cake and roast duck with a blood orange gravy from Kate Cleathero. Other delicious notable posts included lamb stuffed aubergine with flatbread from Geoffrey Brock, Margaret Pullen’s St. Clement’s trifle, minced beef pie, lemon curd and lemon cream cake, chocolate cupcakes and of course from Lou Jones a Skittles birthday cake.
As indicated May was a month with so many incredible contributions, not least Debbie Hyett’s lemon and fresh whipped double cream Swiss roll, Michelle Golding and her mum made a spectacular range of dishes including gorgeous sausage rolls, and from Sharon Day a delicious Bakewell tart. Continuing on a sweet note, there was Marie Baker’s tiramisu and various cakes, Cath Burke’s rhubarb, orange and banana cake, and then the unbaked cheesecake with a jelly topping from Joanna Aleksińska, and finally Syrian biscuits from Amanda Thurlow.
We of course have to pick a winner though, which is of course an impossible task these days, but perhaps edging it in May was Lyn Tallentire, with her delicious raspberry and white chocolate trifle, banana tarte tatin, Japanese duck legs, and her spectacular special afternoon tea to name just a few of her contributions to our Cook & Kitchen community group.
Congratulations Lyn, your much coveted Cook & Kitchen “Kitchen Star” apron will be whisking its way to you soon.
