For the second time, the Kitchen Star apron winner for October 2022 was Sharon Day. For those with a sweet tooth, Sharon shared her chocolate orange mousse, blueberry ricotta cake, strawberry and Chantilly cream tart, cherry Bakewell tart, coffee and walnut cake, nutty caramel tart, tiffin, apple and fresh cream slices, chocolate orange cupcakes and chocolate mousse cups. It wasn’t all sweetness though, there was mussels in a tomato and chilli sauce, chicken curry, pizza muffins and homemade pizzas.
As always seems to be the case these days, it was very competitive, indeed we can’t name everyone in contention this month, however some to note included…
John E Ponty Godwin with creme brulée, honey & lemon chicken, palmiers and a pear tarte tatin, strawberries and cream Victoria sponges.
Kate Cleathero sharing classic Victoria sponge birthday cake, Halloween tray bake, duck breast with an orange gravy, coconut cake and chicken and mushroom soup.
Marie Baker giving us her cherry Madeira cake, apple and cinnamon upside-down cake and lemon cheesecake.
Julie King dazzled us with warming spicy dishes in October including sweet potato and chickpea curry, chicken and sweet potato balti, Thai green prawn curry but also apple and peach caramel pie, cornish pasties and pesto pasta salad.
Michelle Golding (and of course her dear mum) shared pizzas, lamb and vegetable casserole, cheese and potato pie, roast spicy seasoned pork, an amazing big breakfast and lamb shank, mash with homegrown beans.
Geoffrey Brock a wonderful fish pie, salmon with greens in crème fraiche, porcini risotto, fish parcel and gold old steak and chips.
Teresa Floyd with homemade chicken burgers, marinated pork, banana cake, cheese scones, rocky road and coconut rock cakes.
Hazel Hayward shared homemade pizzas, chicken stew, pork mince parcels and a roast pork dinner.
Lou Jones gave us her lovely lemon meringue pie, a Malteser tray bake, chicken Ramen, chocolate orange brownies, slow cooker honey chicken and sticky Asian chicken.
Margaret Pullen was kind to share her lemon meringue, bread and butter pudding, plate apple pie, roast beef dinner and meat and potato pie.
Michelle Johnson her focaccia, roast chicken dinner, ribeye steak, lamb kofta curry and salt and pepper chicken wings.
There were lots of others too in contention, and so for those we missed out above many apologies and do please keep sharing.
