The Kitchen Star apron winner for August 2022 previously won it back in June 2021, and so congratulations once again to Hazel Hayward. Her cooking in August included a lemon sponge with lemon curd cake, seabass, griddled chicken breast on griddled pepper and onion, lemon loaf cake, chicken souvlaki on griddled peppers, bee cupcakes, a Minion Gucci cake, a jungle sponge cake, chicken and veg pie and also a Kitties sponge cake.
The largest number of people ever were in the shortlist this month, including Marie Baker with her millionaire shortbread, her boiled egg salad and coffee ice cream. Kate Cleathero shared her amazing dishes including pork noodle soup, roast pork on the bone, double chocolate chip tray bake, chicken mulligatawny soup, Moroccan lamb shoulder steaks, chicken skewers and spiced apple tray bake.
Sharon Day shared her chocolate éclairs, sweet chilli chicken, marble loaf cake, strawberry sorbet, tomato and chilli soup, berry and pistachio cupcakes and lemon cream slices. Geoffrey Brock was in contention too with a lamb bhuna, amoretto ice cream, baby peppers with walnut and herb stuffing, orecchiette with meatballs, cherry pancakes with Amoretto ice cream and cherry clafoutis.
Other notable contributions came from John E Ponty Godwin with his Victoria sponge cake and party cupcakes, Tina Jarvis with her cherry bake well tart and a vanilla cake with buttercream, and of course Michelle Golding and her mum with a delicious, marinated leg of lamb, ham salad, crispy duck, homemade stuffed crust pizza, blackberry and apple pie, homemade chicken & vegetable pie and cooked roast lamb.
