On the 23rd March 2020, the UK went into the first lockdown due to Covid-19, and the following day came the idea to start the Cook & Kitchen group on Facebook.
The ambition was to bring anyone with a love of cooking and baking together into a safe space, where cooking triumphs and disasters could be shared in equal measure, and where tips could be sought and given by a friendly online community.
With no idea how the Cook & Kitchen group would be received, or indeed if anyone other than a few friends would join we began, and luckily it seems lots of other lovely people thought it sounded like a good idea too, and so a year later and the group has grown to a massive 7,300 members.
With the Cook & Kitchen Facebook group proving so popular, we decided to add a Cook & Kitchen website too on which the community could share recipes and so cookandkitchen.com was launched on the 3rd of November, and later in the same month we started the group’s Kitchen Stars apron competition too.
So, today is the Cook & Kitchen Facebook group’s first birthday and we’ve come a long way in just a year, and so it seems the perfect time to thank absolutely everyone in the group for every single post and comment, you’ve all made the Cook & Kitchen Community what it is today.
