School Ginger Cake
Recipe Ingredients
2oz margarine
1½ oz sugar
4oz golden syrup
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
5oz plain flour
4 fluid oz milk
Method
- Grease and line a 7” square tin.
- Melt margarine, sugar and syrup.
- Add remaining dry ingredients and mix.
- Gradually blend in the milk.
- Pour into the tin and bake at 350 F (gas mark 4) for 30 minutes.
Best kept for a day or two when the top will go sticky
